ready or not

we left Maui with one last snorkel swim, a vegan lunch, and hawaiian snacks for the long ride home. it feels wrong to leave the ocean, but for right now this girl has to (sigh!) work.

maui was stunningly meditatively blow you away beautiful. walking through trails we felt like we were on a stairway to heaven-going to meet God-in all the Holy splendor. we woke up every morning to sunrise and watched the sun go down every night. we splashed in countless waterfalls, walked about rocky cliffs to swim in warm pools, sea caves, and reefs to play with the humuhumunukunukuapuawa's and other hawaiian fish and green sea turtles. we ate taro burgers and liliokoi smoothies snacking on li hi mui's and mixed arare. we camped under the stars, went to bobby's first black sand beach, rode with the wind in our hair in a convertible through the windy one lane dirt rodes that weaved through the mountainside, went to our first red sand beach, walked through a bamboo forest, saw the sunrise over Haleakala crater, and still didn't do half the things we wanted to do. a week just isn't enough time on hawaii. but it is enough to wow the soul, inspire the mind, and enjoy the heart which we were blessed to experience.

with all these good good gifts i keep receiving from my loving God this summer, i know i am still not able to wrap my arms around trunk of the tree. there is always more than my hands can grasp. there is always so much within my embrace that i do not understand. i know its filled with deep love. and beautifully i am reminded that this love is grounding me and holding me up even when i do not accept it.
