i spent the past two days singing to myself at the kitchen table making gingerbread houses (in the beginning of november-pregnancy!) making mess after
mess while bobby wondered where we could eat. he asked me to do only one thing this weekend: clean off the kitchen table. i did my best. i cleaned half, told him i was still working, and did some cooking.question: is turning into your mother an inevitable process? "does it sing like a thousand hymns or is it just pop emotion?" thank you emily sanders. translation, does it come all at once or gradually where every birthday means i surprisingly find new things pop out at random? are there more?!?!! i hear it happen to my mom. she sounds more and more like grandma using little words or phrases in similar voice tones and i think, "that's so grandma!" so, is it a hopeless process you just have to accept or is there any choice in the matter?
i scuttle into the store when its cold not walking like the rest of the world. when planting flower
bulbs, ryan tells me i said the same thing to him she did! ei! it used to bother me that my mom cooked everything on high in a rush burning the garlic bread. now, i understand! it is a busy day! i love eating seconds sooner by cooking on high. i live off her three staple cooking ingredients oil, mushrooms, and onions.but why these?!?!! i would LOVE to have my mom's gift for ultimate multitasking. no! she can do six things in the time it takes me to go to the bathroom. i have no idea how she moves so quickly. with her speed, i could accomplish so much more! i need it right now to balance everything. instead, i do the face and shoulder scrunch she does when eating.
and now the big question, if it is happening to me...what does this mean for my baby?!?!! is she or he doomed to inherit my weird life wuirkyquirkies? someday will he or she be leaving half eaten apple cores around, putting make up on in the car while driving, starting ten projects at once, having a hard time saying no at work, wearing hats instead of washing greasy hair, and trying to save every animal from a life on the streets?

don't worry, i'll get your baby plenty of hats. i'm sure penellie will be more in favor of the hat wearing than hair washing as well...just like HER mom!
