We slept in and drove to the metro at 9am only to find it PACKED! There was a carazy line extending through the tunnel and outside of people waiting to enter

so plan B sprung into action! bobby was our hero and drove us as far as he could on the only open highway

we got off at arlington cemetary (on the side of the highway technically) and walked across the memorial bridge with the masses

dogs! was it cold!!

its been so cold the potomac had ice on it!

you could feel the excitement!

memorial bridge is my favorite bridge in d.c.! it's sooo beautiful! the walk was filled with gorgeous architecture, sunny blues skies, and nip nip nippy winds!

there were so many people heading to the mall they had to turn people away!

but...not us! :)

the crowd chanting, "O-BA-MA! O-BA-MA! O-BA-MA!"

how do we get outta here?!!!?!!

we back tracked the way we came in crossing over the memorial bridge again because we were trapped in by a coral of fence and porter potties. Then came the interesting part...how do we run to the highway and wait for bob? we tried to walk along the highway and got yelled at by a copper. so we finageled the opposite highway entry road. we had bobby waiting on standby along the highway for us to run across the highway and jump in the car. yes the giant puff preggo came running across the highway holding her uterus!
bobs did a u-ie an we headed for home successfully...until the copper chased us, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" we stayed respectfully mute. "You picked people up on the highway! Then you did an illegal U-turn?!?!??!!!" Fire breathing dragon of anger. "I'm sorry officer. I have a 32 week pregnant woman in the back." "THen MAYBE SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE COME DOWN HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE." "Yes, maybe she shouldn't," said Bobby. "GET OUT OF HERE!" "Okay. Thank you, " and get out of there we did! watching the rest of the people alongside of the roads getting in trouble for covert operations much like ours. We headed to table talk for breakfast and i felt like we had just been camping for a week as i looked at all of us around the table and felt my body hot, sweaty, tired, sore, inspired, rough looking, and starving!
