a bird flew into our garage and could not figure out how to escape. i opened the garage door and back door hoping it would fly out on its own. it didn't. the bird would fly between the small gap between the garage door and ceiling, but not out of the large opening from the garage door to the floor. the bird would fly from one corner of the ceiling to the other knocking its beak on the ceiling at times and going back.
it all just seemed too easy. yet, the bird was so scared, disoriented, and confused by being trapped it could not see a way out. after trying to ease the bird towards the exits for a half and hour, i thought about how God must see me at times. how crazy i must seem running myself into the ceiling or completely passing the over obvious doorway and making my life so difficult by hiding in a dark trapping corner. when all along...there is God standing there, pointing the way for me, hoping so desperately that i'll fly free and follow the light and find my way and fly back home.
