friday night...asian delight

this is why i love it when bobby cooks
we get to eat things like this:
i married a chef or "baa-be goo-ley" as hailey says (its irresistibly cute). he made everything from scratch: his speciality fried rice, agedashi tofu, shroomies, wontons, and even mixed up his own secret sauces.

and no, i didn't completely slack
i contributed this to the evening:
chocolate & carmel chip peanut butter oatmeal cookies. they were tasty little guys thanks to a modified martha recipe.

my favorite item was the tofu that bobby made. (i even had him make me seconds it was so good). from hand rolling meatballs into juicy succulent giant balls, to carefully grating four different kinds of cheese and mixing them together for his lasagna, bobby always goes all out in his cooking creations. his perfect attention to the tofu made it a sheer splendid vegetarian treat.

he makes things i wouldn't dare try and they taste better than the restaurants because he use the freshest veggies, all organic ingredients, and prepares things exactly how i like it.

the best is seeing bobby come home from the store. you just never know what he's coming home with. one time, he brought home a hello kitty toaster. one time a christmas tree. this time it was the most incredible chinese rice flour dough balls filled with red bean for a sweet soupy desert treat. (i don't know what the actual name of it is we always call em mochi ball soup) incredible!

the perks of being married: having a buddy to run errands with, having someone to make me laugh while i am scrubbing away every trace of our delicious meal, going out on late night donut runs, cuddling after the, "i ate too much stomach" bloating.

basically, i just love evenings together in the kitchen. i realize as i am getting older one thing i do not care for is being alone in the kitchen in the evening. i don't know why, but it totally depresses me. even if bobby is just downstairs, its too far away! he is not in the kitchen with me! i slump around trying to be quiet more aware of the fact of every dish i am cleaning because i don't feel his pressence there. its fine in the daytime, but not at night. okay quirk number 8,027 identified....greeaat.
