My spring book reading has been a mix of The Last Days of Dogtown by Anita Diamant-a wonderful writer-, a couple of Dr. Deepak Chopra's works, the Psalms, First Light by Susan Monk Kidd and I just had the pleasure of reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. The Kite Runner was simply amazing! It indirectly speaks to the transformative power of newness in our lives. That golden ability of God to use us, our mistakes, our choices, our lives, and breathe into us new life when we need it most. It was heartbreaking, real, and broke me to tears. During my rush of daily tasks, reading calms me by taking me to that other place. So, if you have not read it, I recommend The Kite Runner.
