and in all things, prayer

on a day to day basis i don't really realize that i haven't seen my girls in ages. but now and again, i just need them. like when the movie *enchanted* came out and i had to drag bobcat-who unsuccessfully tried to convince me to see some violent flix since the last time i made him see *becoming jane* with me on opening night-. i just know how my girls would get just as excited as me & just have to have to have to see some light hearted movie about hope, love, and goodness which would make us laugh and equally love prince charming, cutting out curtains, and singing out the window.

and then there are those other times, like when we are together again and we can break our lives apart and let everything go asking for prayer in the most vulnerableparts. and pray. and feel the Holy One moving among us, inside of us and holding us together so perfectly. and it makes me ache to know i cannot do this every week as before. that it takes phone calls, myspace, letters, and email to brigde gaps that are instantly connected, filled, and lifted up in a single moment of united prayer.

i just love that feeling. the warmth afterwards. the look in everyone's eyes, like we all have just been basking in the sunlight of God.

why is prayer so powerful in unity?

like lisah said when we talked over work challenges and inspirations, we need to communicate across the gaps of time and culture for reconciling, healing, and hope this in our conversation so that african americans would know that not all white people hate black people. from peaches to plums because thats how i roll.

so in this fragmented time, when i live betwist and inbetween the sisterhood and prayer circles, i am restored in those moments when time does stop and our eyes are opened to God walking among us. i know that whether we are together or apart we are still on our knees to the one who lives in each of us. and i can only thank you, Dear Mother and Father of all the stars in the heavens and of all your creations on earth. thank you for simultaneous hearts beating. thank you for a traveling preggers. thank you for making flights when they are all oversold. thank you for shout outs at the airport, for hugs, for glimpses into our friends new lives, for heart to hearts, for strong female pastors, for cuddlin, for sunsets, dinners, talks in wind blown sailboats about babies, russia, living in the Caucaces, for adorable beach houses, homemade breakfasts, italian soy decaf cappacinos, eggs made to order, cuties, guac, brownies, thoughtful bevies, pink baby sunglasses, life transitions, venting, massages, social workers, reading baby books, skinny dipping at the reverend brown's, talks under moonlight and candlelight, time away from husbands to reunite the sisterhood, and beautiful prayer circles. most of all, thank you for You. thank You.
