every saturday or sunday we love to drop by eastern market to pick out bags of peaches, cherries, tomatoes, beans, corn, strawberries, and bobby's summer addiction of blueberries.
sadly, there was a large fire in the eastern market building this year. the building is so sad now. the sellers which normally set up shop everyday there and ooze out into the streets on the weekends, now all reside on the streets and there are far fewer sellers now.
efforts are being made to restore the building and continue the tradition of eastern market. for it is not the same without it! it was a piece of euromarket care in the mist of the urban d.c. environment. it brought together local produce, hand made items, and a break from the mega supermarket world of our generation. please get better eastern market!
