the air hung still as if the day was taking a nap
we hiked slowly to match the rhythm of the day
taking in the vivid sleeping greens
the path to ourselves all we could hear were our feet moving past lizards, frogs, squirrels, and birds
we leap in the warm river joining the fish
our splashes waking up the water
we laid our wet bodies down like rags
on the hot rocks that cradled us
talking about gerald, death, and heaven
thanking God for the gift of the day
wild orange trumpet flowers
our own private beach
our friends who came before us
view from the beach
do you see what i see? a mama deer and two fawns!!!
baby coming out for a peek
